President Donald Trump revealed on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the family of a Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the presidential home.

He added that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.

Information on the Devastating Shooting

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a violent incident on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have been held in their memory.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief stated he’s talked about a White House visit for the loved ones of both individuals of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” the president informed the press. “And similarly with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Reaction

Community members gathered over the past few days at the high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s government program to aid policing efforts in DC.

Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that instructors wished for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,” Hankins, the principal of Beckstrom’s previous school, stated to the media. “She was sweet, compassionate and always eager to support those in need.”

Memorial plans for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Actions and Policy Changes

Law enforcement have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy caused the Trump administration to suspend asylum applications and halt providing visas to owners of Afghan passports.

Status of the Airman

Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, started his military career in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia leader Morrisey stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Pam Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she planned to visit Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a MP with excellence, per the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had courage,” Morrisey informed the crowd at the service. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
