A Pair of Arrests Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

This incident resulted in the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
